Oscars Picks & Predictions: BEST ACTOR

The toughest race to predict this year. This is how I'd break it down... 5). Willem DaFoe - AT ETERNITY'S GATE: Thank goodness DaFoe's performance in this film is mesmerizing for the rest of this film is not. 4). Viggo Mortenson - GREENBOOK: A quality performance, filled with heart. This is Viggo's 3 Oscar nomination. He'll have to wait until another nomination for a win. 3). Bradley Cooper - A STAR IS BORN: Overlooked for his Directing work, Cooper was deep and dark in his best acting to date. 2). Rami Malek - BOHEMIAM RHAPSODY: The current front runner for the Oscar for his portrayal of Queen front man Freddie Mercury. At this point, I would say that Malek WILL WIN the Oscar this year. 1). Christian Bale - VICE: My favorite performance by any of the performers nominated this year. Bale disappeared into the make up - and the role - of former VP Dick Cheney and is who I think SHOULD WIN. I think there is a very good chance that Bale will pull the upset and win the award - but this just might be wishful thinking. And you can take this to the Bank(ofMarquis)
